Zachary Barrett is a poet and educator from Washington, DC. He has been a recipient of the Miriam McFall Starlin Poetry Prize from the University of Oregon, where he received his MFA in poetry, and the Baltimore Three-Arts Club of Homeland Literary Prize. His work has been awarded a Gold Circle by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association, and has appeared or is forthcoming in Potomac Review, The McNeese Review, and The Lindenwood Review, among others. He has spent his adult life working as a bartender, musician, writer, and high school lacrosse coach. He currently lives in West Halifax, Vermont where he is at work on his debut collection.
